The annual Sharon Cemetery Maintenance Association will meet at Sharon Presbyterian Church on April 12 at 2 p.m. During this time, old and new business will be discussed. Everyone who has decedents buried at Sharon Cemetery is invited to participate at the meeting. The New Hymn M.B. Church Spring Revival on April 13-14, at 7 p.m. each night. Guest speakers will be as follows: Monday night, April 13, Pastor Wyatt Lewis, Old St. John M.B. Church, Wesson; Tuesday night, April 14, Pastor Martin L. Washington, Antioch M.B. Church, Hazlehurst. Everyone is welcome.
April 18
The Covington County Genealogical and Historical Society will meet at 10 a.m. on April 18 for a tour of the houses on the Mt. Olive Boulevard. We will meet at the Mount Olive Baptist Church, where we will board golf carts for the tour up and down the Main Street. Main Street was a four-lane drive from its design in 1899 until this century, when the highway department redesigned each side as a single lane. During the morning, we will be able to visit The Basket Shoppe to see the handmade baskets. A sandwich lunch will be available for order on the day of the tour. Author John Shivers will be at the Magee Public Library on Tuesday, April 21, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. to talk about writing, introduce his newest novel, “Hysterical Preservation,” and sign copies. Come and meet the author!

An Author Meet-and-Greet for local author Lollie Wheat will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 10 a.m.-12 noon at the Mendenhall Public Library. She will introduce her debut novel, “Barefoot Beginnings” and sign copies. Everyone is invited.
April 25
The Pinola School annual school reunion will be Sat., April 25, at the Pinola Community Center, 581 School House Rd., Pinola, MS. Any and all former students, teachers and friends are invited. A meal will be furnished for $10 per plate. You are welcome to bring a dessert if you like. The doors will be opened at 9 a.m. and the business meeting begins about 11 a.m. with lunch following. Pilgrim Rest Community Development, in partnership with Mississippi Food Networks, will continue monthly food distributions on the third Thursday of each month from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Pilgrim Rest Family Life Center, 169 Pilgrim Rest Rd., Pinola, MS 39149.
Overflow Church sponsors a Food Pantry Distribution that will re-open on Wednesday, March 18 and will be offered every 3rd Wednesday evening of each month. Morning prayer and afternoon luncheon is held every Thursday at Mt. Moriah Church. Prayer time is 11 a.m. until noon. Lunch and fellowship time is 12:15-1:15 p.m. Prayer and lunch are open to all people to get spiritually fed and natural food for the soul. The Books-n-Lunch Club meets at the Magee Library at 12:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month to discuss a book chosen for adult readers. Potluck lunch is served, so bring a dish.
