Arrest Reports 1-6-2022

The Simpson County Sheriff’s Office reported 16 arrests from December 27 to January 3.
Bobby Jack Whitfield Jr. of 45 SCR Highway 35 Mize MS was arrested on December 29 and charged with possession of methamphetamine.

Willie Gene Qualls Captured

The search for Willie Qualls has ended. He was arrested near JJ’s Shell Station in Mendenhall shortly before 8:00am. The Simpson County Sheriff’s Department would like to thank everyone who remained vigilant and provided support in locating Qualls.

Manhunt continues for Willie Gene Qualls

The Simpson Co. Sheriff’s Dept. recently Pursued a stolen vehicle along US Highway 49 near Magee. The driver, Willie Gene Qualls, ran the stolen vehicle into the woods near the railroad tracks on Athens Road and fled on foot. A multi-agency manhunt is underway.
