Sunday, October 31, 2021 at 4:19 PM, the Simpson County Sheriff’s Department responded to a shots fired call at 189 Big V Rd. S. near the Covington County line. Deputies were assisted by officers with Magee PD. Once on the scene, deputies soon discovered the body of Joshua Thurman with an apparent gunshot wound to the head.
