Two Juveniles Arrested for Possession of High Powered Rifles

Magee Police Chief Denis Borges reported on Friday at approximately 3:38 a.m., Magee Police Department received a call reporting juveniles possibly armed with handguns and rifles at the Circle K gas station on Main Ave. Officers arrived on the scene at 3:43 a.m. and made contact with two juveniles.

Carly Gregg sentenced to life in prison for murder of mother

On Friday, 15-year-old Carly Gregg was found guilty of murdering her mother, Ashley Smylie, and attempting to murder her stepfather, Heath Smylie. Gregg, who was tried as an adult in Rankin County, was sentenced to life in prison.
