On Friday, May 17, 2024, at approximately 11:08 a.m., the Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a garbage truck vs motorcycle on MS-468 East near MS-475 in Rankin County.
A 1993 Yamaha driven by 57-year-old Charles Brynum, Sr. of Brandon, MS, traveled east on MS-468 when it collided head-on with a Republic Garbage truck driven by 45-year-old Leonard Moore of Jackson, MS. Mr. Moore was transported to UMMC Hospital in Jackson, MS with unknown injuries. Mr. Bynum was pronounced deceased on the scene.
This crash remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
