Food for thought -if the state board of education lifts the requirement to pass state tests before graduation, who does that benefit? It benefits the schools because they are not being held accountable. So if students pass all courses, they don’t have to pass the standards test.
This is a disservice to students. They need to be prepared to go to college and so many arrive on campus ill prepared already. Sure, education is a challenge, but that is life and lowering the standards is a bad plan.
