The Falcons travelled up the road to take on the Trojans of Magee on Saturday, Oct. 8.
In the first game the Falcon Rookies (7-8yrs) went on offense first and had to punt on their first series. The Trojans scored first and often as the youngest Falcons just couldn’t get in sync.
Strong defensive play led the Trojans to a shutout. The final score— Trojans 40 and the Falcons 0.
In the second game the (Midgets 9-10yrs) it was a defensive battle early on, but the Trojans would get their wheels under them and take over. The final score on this game— Trojans 30 and Falcons 6.
The Falcon Peewees (11-12yrs) would continue their dominance in this game. They completely shut down the Trojan offense. The final score was Falcons 42 and Trojans 0.
This weekend, Oct. 15, the Falcons travelled a little farther up the road to take on the Panthers of Morton.
The youngest Falcons, even though out gunned, held their own. Strong defensive play by Christian Berry, Fisher Sharp, Demarius Womack and Kenneth Mays kept the Rookies in this one. However, the Panthers would manage to get into the endzone twice. Morton took the win by a score of 12-0.
The Falcon Midgets kept this game close; at half-time the score was 16-6. Late in the third quarter , though, the Panthers would start to take over, scoring 3 TDs. The Falcons would add another TD in the fourth. Final score— Panthers 36 and Falcons 12.
Standouts include Emanuel Bridges, Gavin Weathersby, Zykyren McCullum, John Paul McCory, and Ja’Morris Byrd.
In the Peewee game our Falcon dominance would be tested early, as the Panthers managed to keep them out of the endzone most of the first quarter. Morton would even score, but had it called back on a block in the back penalty. Late in the first quarter, the Falcons would open the game up as both offense and defense took over. At halftime, the score was 24-0 Falcons. The second half was completely dominated by the Falcons. Final score— Falcons 48 and Panthers 0.
