“It is here and it is right around the corner,” said Gaye Sullivan, Simpson County Country Club President, about the Green for the Greens Golf Tournament.
The annual event has been postponed because of the pandemic but the board has set the date for Saturday, July 11.
The format for the event is a three-person scramble with tee time set for noon. There will be prizes for winners. and food and refreshments on the course. She also said that if anyone is interested in being a sponsor for the event options for that are available. Contact a member of the board or the club house for details.
The registration fee is $150 per golfer or $450 for a team. Deadline for entry is June 28. As an added bonus golfers can purchase mulligans to improve their scoring ability.
The 18-hole tourney will start at noon and will be followed in the evening by dinner for players and one guest. Extra tickets will be available for purchase.
The proceeds for the event will go toward improvements at the country club. The Platinum Sponsor for the event is Peoples Bank for the second year running. A new twist is the club raffle for a Club Car Precedent. Tickets are $20 each or five for $100.
