Girl Scout Troop 5116 was quite busy during 2025 holiday season. They were excited about keeping their promise in honoring the Girl Scout Law to be “… friendly and helpful, considerate and caring, courageous and strong, …. And to make the world a better place.” They helped people by donating more than 25 coats/jackets to Magee Middle School Beta Club to help protect the less fortunate with winter wear so that they can stay warm during the cold weather. The girls also packed, tagged, and delivered over 125 bags of fruit and other goodies to residents living in a nursing home, a senior living home and in their communities. As they handed out the bags they sang Christmas songs. The residents were very happy.
The troop thanked sponsors who help make this service possible and successful: Walmart, Vowell’s, Piggly Wiggly, J & M Funeral Home, the Girl Scout Parents, the troop leader assistants (Mary Woodard and Lois Traxler), and especially to our awesome girls in this troop —Miracle Brown, De’Meria Bullock, Madison Griffith, Kaizleith Hayes, Harmonie Hobbs, Kierstyn Jones, Carlee Luckett, Kylie Sparks, Jaqavia Thigpen, Zamora Thigpen, Malaysia Warren, Harmony West, and Lyric West)
