Magee High School Principal Duriel Banks announced a special scholarship fund has been established for graduating seniors from Magee High School. This scholarship will provide full tuition coverage for students to attend Copiah-Lincoln Community College or Jones College. These scholarships have been made possible by an endowment left by Faye Posey a long time educator who loved her days at MHS. Posey died May 31, 2024.
Eligibility requirements for this scholarship include:
● Graduating from Magee High School
● Attending Magee for at least two years
● Maintaining a GPA of at least 3.0 from 9th through 12th grade
The scholarship will cover all tuition costs throughout the student's attendance, provided they continue to maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
A celebration was held on Thursday October 16 that featured words from Co-Lin President Dr. Dewayne Middleton. Dr. Middleton expressed that this was a great opportunity for students to further their education and charged them all to take advantage of the gift left behind by former Magee High teacher Faye Posey.
