Irma Louise Amason, 87, of Mendenhall, MS, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at the Simpson General Hospital in Mendenhall, MS. She was born Sunday, December 12, 1937, in Jefferson Davis County, MS.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 29, 2025, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall, 3077 Simpson Hwy 13, Mendenhall, MS. Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Main Street Baptist Church in Mendenhall, MS. Burial followed in Sharon Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Magee, MS. Bro. Bruce Smith and Bro. Kevin Jackson officiated. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall handled arrangements, 601-847-4401.
She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Gary Amason of Mendenhall, MS; daughters, Vicky Amason McKay (Preston) of Mount Olive, MS, Jackie Amason Smith of Terry, MS and Patty Amason Jackson (Kevin) of Picayune, MS; sister, Lois Abernathy Taylor; grandchildren, Jacob Jackson, Joshua Jackson, Jocelyn Jackson, Charity Phillips, Hope May, Keith Manuel and Michelle Manuel; 14 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
