James Hulon Garner, 78, of Magee, MS, went to be with his Lord on Friday, February 2, 2024. He was born Monday, January 21, 1946, in Magee, Mississippi.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 302 8th Ave SW, Magee, MS, with a funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. Burial followed in Sharon Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Magee. Bro. Norris Ables and Bro. Gary Roberts officiated. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee was in charge of arrangements, 601-849-5031.
He was preceded in death by his father, L.H. Garner, Jr.; mother, Dorothy Higgins Garner; and sister, Sandra Brewer.
Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Peggy Jean Seymour Garner; daughters, Stacey Anderson (Jimmy) and Sharon Garner; grandchildren, Mac Anderson, Jackson Anderson and Beau Beauchamp; sister, Ann Abercrombie; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
Pallbearers were Reed Abercrombie, Bryce Magee, Tommy Bishop, Alan Brewer, Kyle Brewer, and Jeffrey Sullivan.
Honorary pallbearers were Mac Anderson, Jackson Anderson, Beau Beauchamp, and Jimmy Anderson.
Special music was performed by Dr. Sharolyn Magee.
