Jenifer McCarty Runnels, 69, of Mount Olive, MS, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2025, at the Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. She was born Saturday, June 2, 1956, in Laurel, MS.
Visitation was held on Sunday, June 22, 2025, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee, 302 Eighth Ave SW, Magee, MS. Funeral services were held on Monday, June 23, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee. Burial followed in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery in Mount Olive, MS. Bro. Kirby Craft officiated. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee was in charge of arrangements, 601-849-5031.
Jenifer was a loving wife, caring sister, and wonderful aunt. She was married to Mickey for 34 years. She was a devout Christian and a member of Concord Baptist Church. She will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Leo McCarty; mother, Sadie Ware McCarty; nephew, Jesse McCarty; niece, Ashley McCarty.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Michael Runnels of Mount Olive, MS; brother, Buster McCarty of Mount Olive, MS; nephews, Gilton McCarty, Hunter McCarty; and a host of friends.
Pallbearers were Buster McCarty and Gilton McCarty.
