I am a 72 year old lifelong Republican and I am done with the GOP. I am tired of the betrayal. It seems that promises made during a campaign are quickly forgotten in Washington D.C. and I am tired of being betrayed by the representatives I send to the Nation's Capital. Congressman Michael Guest and Senators Wicker and Hyde-Smith do not deserve to represent Mississippi.
Watching the protest in Washington D.C. last week was not fun, but the reaction of the left and Congress, the media and social media was stunningly hypocritical. They all watched this summer, in virtual silence as a summer of violence, looting , and arson unfolded in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York City, Phoenix, Portland, Richmond, Seattle le, St. Louis, Washington D.C. resulting in billions in damages, hundreds of businesses destroyed and at least, .....at least 47 fatalities........... Instead of condemning this reprehensible violence they were either silent or endorsed it with mammoth signage on the streets of the nations capital and New York City, reading in large yellow letters: BLACK LIVES MATTER.....the very organization responsible for most of the carnage. Even more stunning was their silence when the home of one of their colleagues was visited by the mob terrifying his wife and newborn in early January. You see that kind of despicable behavior is totally acceptable if you support President Trump
Let' s not forget why those folks were in D.C. and what started the fire on Jan. 6th.
All they wanted was for their government to assure them that elections were/are fair and honest. 74 million Republicans and almost 20% of Democrats believe that the election of Nov. 3rd was stolen. That' s almost a third of the populace. Democrats responded to the outrage by stating without equivocation that claims of election fraud were unfounded and without evidence of any kind. The fact that they refused to allow a full forensic investigation of the evidence...i.e. voting machines or ballots in the swing states belied their claims. If they had nothing to hide.........they had nothing to hide.
It doesn' t matter if the election was stolen or not......what matters most is that they refused to address the valid concerns of a large percentage of the populace and prove that it wasnt ' t. No one listened and no one cared.
Therein lies the problem and why the powder keg exploded on the Mall on Ja n. 5th.
The Democrats responded by attacking the voters in an attempt to discredit and marginalizing them . The courts in the disputed states refused to hold evidentiary hearings.
The SUPREME COURT OF THE UNITED STATES punted.
But worst of all the Majority Leader of the Senate, Mitch McConnell stood on the floor of the Senate as millions of his supporters were listening in the D.C. Mall and around the nation and threw 74 million Republicans under the bus by saying that there was no evidence of voter fraud......... Mitch McConnell lit the fuse that exploded just minutes later . Martin Luther King said that violence is the language of the unheard. That is exactly what happened on January 6th.
With Democrats in charge now, we will never find out the truth of what initiated the violence nor if the election was stolen.
The events of this past few weeks are the beginning not the end of a major rebirth of the conservative movement that would make William F. Buckley so proud. The continued persecution of President Trump will have only one long term affect. It will give conservatives something they have never had..........a political martyr to continue to follow with greater devotion that ever before.
The Left believes that it can put their collective boot to the necks of conservatives and squash our protest and message. They are as wrong as the police were in Jim Crow Birmingham, Alabama in the early 60's when they tried to silence the voices of the Civil Rights movement with dogs and truncheons . The more they attempt to suppress the message, the stronger the message will become......we’ll simply find different outlets. The suppression of first amendment protections by "Big Tech" and social media is stunning. When I have to filter my message out of fear of offending the Facebook and Twitter gestapo I don' t need to be a part of those platforms. In time we will have to leave Facebook and Twitter. It is obvious they don't approve of our message. Facebook might survive in a much smaller, less profitable form, but Twitter will become a boring, leftist echo chamber and will end up just like liberal talk radio......it will die on the vine.
Stanford professor and social commentator, Thomas Sowell said that 'The political left's attempts to silence ideas they cannot, or will not, debate are a confession of intellectual bankruptcy .' That says it all. The Left will not prevail because they have no message. Keep the faith . In all things, keep the faith .
