Mr Brown,
I am writing to express my extreme distrust in you and your publication, the Simpson county paper. I will spare you with details leading up to the next statement I am about to make because I am certain that you are well aware of the situation I am referencing. Keith Townsend called you and specifically asked that it not be published that he said “bad people own bad dogs”. And today we read where you put pen to paper and wrote exactly what he asked you not to publish.
Can you tell me Mr Brown if remorse or an apology have any place in life or society these days? Obviously not in your world. I’d just like you to know that you’ve just devastated someone who has always been the kindest, most gentle loving man.
And let’s not forget that my family is not at fault here. We are the ones that have had two family pets killed. Yet here we are now..you have published our address, which might I add is a private driveway. I can only hope and pray that all the pit bull lovers of the county aren’t bright enough to look up our address so they can come harass my family and I.
So sleep well at night Mr Brown. Seeing as how your address isn’t printed in the paper. Turns out that you really aren’t any more decent than the people that own the Pitt bulls.
Leslie Campbell
Editor’s Note: The story in last week’s newspaper about dogs roaming did not have a correction that Mr. Townsend called and requested. The newspaper told him that it would be made and it wasn’t. For this we offer our apology.
