Residents in Simpson County will have a convenient opportunity to take care of driver’s license and identification needs next month as the state’s mobile service unit, License Express, makes a scheduled stop in Mendenhall.
The “License Express: ID on the Go” event is set for April 9, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Copiah-Lincoln Community College Simpson Campus, located at 151 Co-Lin Drive.
The mobile unit, operated through the Mississippi Department of Public Safety, is designed to bring essential licensing services directly to communities, reducing the need for residents to travel long distances or wait in line at permanent driver service offices.
From 11:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. the event will be open to the public. During the event, citizens will be able to handle a variety of services, including renewing driver’s licenses, obtaining identification cards, and completing other standard transactions typically offered at a driver service bureau.
Officials encourage residents to take advantage of the one-day event, particularly those who may have difficulty traveling or scheduling appointments at traditional locations.
For additional information, residents can contact the Department of Public Safety or visit its Driver Service Bureau website.
The License Express initiative continues to expand access to vital state services across rural areas, ensuring that more Mississippians can stay up to date with required identification and licensing.
