The Alpha Chi chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, Mississippi Organization held its first meeting of the new year on September 24.
The group recognized Shania Collins as their Red Rose recipient of the year. The Red Rose award is for people in the community who make a significant contribution to education, and Collins was thanked for her work in local schools through Region 8.
Alpha Chi also installed new officers for the next biennium with Marcie Tuggle as president, Jennifer Thornton as first vice president, Lindsay Griffin as recording secretary, and Laurel Gardner as treasurer.
Delta Kappa Gamma is an international society for key women educators that supports member growth, new educators, and the education community.
