Magee, MS – — The Magee Auditorium pulsed with energy and purpose as Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Rho Iota Zeta Chapter of Mendenhall, MS, hosted its annual Youth “Stepping Against Drugs and Violence” Stepshow.
This community event continues to serve as a powerful initiative to raise awareness about drug abuse and youth violence, while celebrating the creativity and resilience of young people.This year’s program was guided by local host, creator, and promoter Terrence Jerome of Magee, MS, who brought his signature enthusiasm to the stage.
The showcase united performers from across Mississippi, blending step, cheer, and spoken word to deliver messages of unity, empowerment, and hope. Featured groups included the Amicettes and Archonettes of Rho Iota Zeta Chapter, Lambda Kappa Zeta Amicettes (Hattiesburg, MS), Alpha Delta Zeta Archonettes (Jackson, MS), along with spirited performances by the Magee High School cheerleaders and Jefferson Davis County High School cheerleaders.
Adding to the inspiration were collegiate leaders Taylor Bridges, member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Tau Eta Chapter, University of Mississippi; and Joseph Smith, member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Gamma Phi Chapter, Alcorn State University.
Both shared powerful words of encouragement, rooted in their personal journeys of service and leadership.
The audience also enjoyed a show-stopping performance by the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Mu Sigma Chapter (Jackson, MS), whose precision and energy reinforced the event’s themes of brotherhood, accountability, and community strength.
In addition to the performances, Rho Iota Zeta’s Z-HOPE Team sponsored a Backpack Giveaway, equipping local students with essential school supplies for the upcoming academic year. Tables filled with notebooks, pens, folders, and backpacks served as a testament to the chapter’s continued dedication to service.
Chartered on June 19, 1999, in Simpson County, Rho Iota Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. remains a beacon of sisterhood, service, and leadership in the community.
