Addison McWilliams has been named Simpson CountyAcademy's STAR Student for the 2024-2025 school year by the Mississippi Economic Council STAR program.
Addison is the daughter of Donny McWilliams and Shea and Chris Nichols of Magee.
The purpose of the STAR program is to recognize outstanding students and teachers in Mississippi through its Education Celebration.
Students are selected based on academic excellence through both ACT scores and scholastic averages.
Each STAR Student is asked to designate a STAR teacher, the teacher who has made the greatest contribution to the student's scholastic achievement. Addison has chosen Mrs. Michelle Crace, her English teacher, as STAR Teacher.
Over 600 STAR students and teachers will receive recognition at the upcoming Education Celebration.
