JACKSON, MS – The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) is pleased to announce Jerry Carter, MDWFP Chief of Law Enforcement has been recognized as a Patriotic Employer by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense Office.
The ESGR Patriotic Employer Award is given to supervisors and leaders who demonstrate strong support for Guard and Reserve members through flexible policies, understanding of military responsibilities, and a commitment to maintaining open communication.
Carter was nominated for the award by Sergeant Major Larry Primeaux of the Army National Guard, who also serves with MDWFP’s Law Enforcement K-9 Unit. This award was in recognition of Carter’s outstanding support of Primeaux who serves in the United States Armed Forces Guard and Reserve. The Patriotic Employer Award reflects the high level of commitment shown to accommodating military obligations, promoting a supportive work environment, and recognizing the value of service to the nation.
Nearly one-third of the United States Armed Forces is comprised of the Guard and Reserve, making employer support essential to maintaining military readiness. Carter’s recognition highlights the important role MDWFP leadership plays in supporting employees who serve both their communities and their country.
