JACKSON, MS - The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) is now accepting applications for its next Law Enforcement Cadet class.
Conservation Officers serve a vital role in protecting and preserving Mississippi’s natural resources. Their responsibilities include enforcing state game and fish laws, promoting safe outdoor recreation through hunter and boater education programs, and building strong relationships within the outdoor community by working closely with hunters, anglers, and other recreational users across the state.
MDWFP is looking for qualified candidates to fill positions across Mississippi. Availability of Law Enforcement Cadet positions can be found on the Mississippi State Personnel Board website. The deadline to apply is Tuesday, March 17,2026.
Applicants must meet the following minimum standards:
- Be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
- Have successfully completed sixty-four (64) semester hours at an accredited community college or university;
- OR hold an Associate Degree from an accredited community college;
- OR have completed a Law Enforcement Academy and possess at least two (2) years of full-time law enforcement experience.
- Successfully complete and receive a favorable background investigation.
- Pass a physical examination conducted by a licensed physician and meet established physical qualification standards.
- Pass an alcohol and drug screening conducted by a certified laboratory.
