Several Mendenhall High School (MHS) students recently earned high scores on the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery Test (ASVAB), scoring above the Mississippi state average of 16.
The ASVAB is a comprehensive test used by the military to assess a student’s strengths and potential for success in various career fields. In addition to its role in military recruitment, the assessment is widely recognized as a valuable career exploration tool for students interested in both civilian and military pathways.
This school year, MHS offered the ASVAB three times to provide students with multiple testing opportunities. The group of 11th and 12th graders recognized for their performance demonstrated strong aptitude in areas assessed by the exam.
The results reflect not only academic readiness, but also the school’s ongoing efforts to connect students with tools that support career planning and postsecondary success.
“We are proud of our Mendenhall students for their outstanding performance and ambition–they truly represent the best of what our future holds,” said MHS Career Coach April Dear.
