Memorial services for beloved siblings, Mary Ann Leggett Tullos, 68, Mount Olive, MS, and Troy Daniel Leggett, 62, Mount Olive, MS, were held on Saturday, March 27, 2021, at 11 a.m. from The Chapel at Reeves Funeral Home, Inc., Mount Olive. Pastor Tony Duckworth, Sr., was the officiant. Interment was in the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Collins, MS. Reeves Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Leggett -Tullos passed away on March 22, 2021, at Arrington Living Center, Collins, MS, and Mr. Troy Daniel Leggett passed away at Covington County Hospital, Collins, MS, on March 19, 2021.
Honorary pallbearers were Larry Leggett, Anthony Leggett, Wayne Leggett, Steve James, Cory Barnes, Chauncey Leggett.
Active pallbearers were Tony Leggett, Lonnie Leggett, Kenny McLaurin, Orlando Rankin, Henry Powell, Tony Hawthorne and Albert Norwood.
Flower bearers were nieces and great-nieces.
Mr. Troy Leggett was a graduate of Mount Olive High School, where he received many awards for his athletic abilities. He joined the United States Army in 1977 and was honorably discharged after service. He was dedicated to his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, two sisters, Shirley Leggett and Mary Ann Leggett Tullos; two brothers, Otis Earl Leggett and Charles Ray Leggett.
Survivors include his devoted wife, Anita Leggett; two sons, Cory Barnes, Seattle, Washington, and Chauncey La'Troy Leggett, Mt. Olive. Four brothers, Larry (Lisa) Leggett, Petal, MS, Anthony (Lydia) Leggett, Gulfport, MS, Wayne (Linda) Leggett and Steve James, Magee, MS; one sister-in-law, Mattie Leggett, three special nephews, Orlando Rankin, Lonnie Leggett, and Tony Leggett; mother-in-law, Ruby Hawthorne; special uncle, John L. Burkett; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of uncles, aunts and many relatives and friends.
Mrs. Mary Ann Leggett Tullos was a beloved resident of Mount Olive, MS. She received her GED and attended Drones Business School, where she received a certificate in Administrative Assistance. She was a former employee of PriorityOne Bank, Magee, MS.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, brothers, Otis L. Leggett, Charles Ray Leggett, and Troy Daniel Leggett, one siser, Shirley Leggett, and her eldest son, Michael Angelo Rankin.
Surviviors include her son Orlando (Cassandra) Rankin, Mendenhall, MS, nephew-son, Lonnie(Shelley) Leggett, Enterprise, AL; four brothers, Larry (Lisa) Leggett, Petal, MS, Anthony (Lydia) Leggett, Gulfport, MS, Wayne (Linda) Leggett, Madison, MS, and Steven James, Magee, MS; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Rankin, Mendenhall, and two sisters-in-law, Anita Leggett, Mt. Olive, and Mattie Legget, Collins, MS; special nephew, Tony Leggett; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; three special friends, Katherine Duckworth, Margie Vanish and Henretta Lott.
