The Nation's Weather for Sunday, August 6, 2023
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
An expansive area of severe thunderstorms is expected to
develop tomorrow, including locations from northeastern
Arkansas to western Pennsylvania and much of Iowa. Within
this zone, thunderstorms may be capable of producing
destructive wind gusts, flooding downpours and a few
tornadoes. Farther south, additional storms will fire up in
parts of the Southeast from Mississippi through Florida.
West of that area, triple-digit heat will again affect
residents from Louisiana across much of Texas and through
much of the Southwest near the border with Mexico as the
latest round of exceptional heat presses on for another
day. Thunderstorms will redevelop through the Intermountain
West as well, with much of the West Coast and New England
remaining dry through the daylight hours.
