The Nation's Weather for Sunday, December 24, 2023
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Through the day tomorrow, areas of rain and embedded
thunderstorms, some heavy, will press from the western Gulf
Coast into parts of the South as a storm tracks eastward.
Zones of flooding are possible on streets and highways
within the most persistent downpours, bringing difficult
holiday travel. Rain will stretch northward through portions
of the Upper Midwest, but on the back side of the storm,
snow is expected instead for places from eastern North
Dakota southwestward into Colorado, with flurries likely
ending during the morning hours across much of central and
southern Wyoming. In the Great Lakes and Northeast regions,
a damp day is in store for many. Most others will stay dry
tomorrow, but the next storm pushing onshore brings rain to
the Pacific Northwest coast.
