NATIONAL SUMMARY
A potent storm will spread showers and thunderstorms across
much of the Midwest tomorrow. Thunderstorms can become
severe from Arkansas to Illinois, southern Michigan and
Ohio, and will be capable of producing damaging winds, large
hail and tornadoes. Showers and thunderstorms can develop
across the northern Plains, mainly in the afternoon. With
the exception of an afternoon thunderstorm in spots from
eastern Pennsylvania to Massachusetts, much of the Northeast
will be dry and warm. There can be a few showers in the
higher elevations of Washington and Montana; otherwise, much
of the West will be dry. Very hot conditions will continue
across the southern Plains, and temperatures can climb above
110 degrees Fahrenheit in some locations in Texas,
approaching record-high temperatures.
