_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Thunderstorms across the northern Midwest can bring flash
flooding, hail and localized damaging wind gusts tomorrow.
There can be an isolated tornado or two in Minnesota,
Wisconsin and Illinois. Farther east, gusty thunderstorms
will rumble across the Northeast. An area of high pressure
anchored over the Rocky Mountains will continue to promote
very hot weather and spotty afternoon thundershowers. Many
places will challenge daily record-high temperatures and
even challenge all-time records. In the Southeast, it will
be very warm and humid and afternoon thunderstorms can dot
the Gulf Coast States. Elsewhere, along the mid-Atlantic and
Northeast coast the heat wave continues with temperatures
