NATIONAL SUMMARY
A tropical rainstorm will bring rain to the mid-Atlantic
tomorrow. Due to the ongoing drought conditions in West
Virginia and Virginia, some rain will be beneficial. In the
Plains, it will be very warm and humid with a few strong
afternoon thunderstorms. Thunderstorms can bring localized
damaging wind gusts and hail. Ahead of a storm moving across
the West, there will be strong winds across the Rockies
leading to an enhanced fire danger. This storm will spread
rain and cooler weather across the Great Basin. Snow can mix
in with rain in elevations above 8,000 feet. Elsewhere, rain
will spread across the northern Rockies and can lead to
isolated flash flooding. Meanwhile, dry and warm weather
continues to prevail across the Midwest and Northeast.
Afternoon showers and thunderstorms will dot the Gulf Coast.
