NATIONAL SUMMARY
Occasional rain and a thunderstorm will affect the Gulf
Coast from Texas to Alabama tomorrow. In Florida, just a
spotty thunderstorms is expected in the panhandle. Much of
the activity will be confined to the afternoon in the
western and central Florida Peninsula, with a couple of
morning showers along the eastern coast of Florida. A shower
or two can dampen the southern Appalachians, but any rain
will be light and will not exacerbate any ongoing flooding.
Only a few, spotty showers are expected in the eastern Great
Lakes. A steady rain will fall in western portions of
Washington and Oregon, as a cold front advances eastward
through the Pacific Northwest. Much of the rest of the
nation is most likely to be dry. Record-challenging heat
will continue in parts of the Desert Southwest.
