The Nation's Weather for Wednesday, October 5, 2022
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
A coastal storm will continue to linger just off the East
coast tomorrow with periods of rain continuing in much of
the Northeast. Most rain is expected to fall between the
Delmarva Peninsula and Massachusetts, and will be heaviest
near and east of the Interstate-95 corridor. In areas that
have had especially heavy rainfall recently, additional rain
may lead to localized flooding problems. Gusty onshore winds
will lead to unusually high tides, which can lead to
additional coastal flooding and beach erosion. While a
cooldown is likely in the Northwest, an area of high
pressure will allow heat to slowly build in the Southwest.
High temperatures in the Central Valley and low deserts are
likely to reach the 90s in many spots.
