The Nation's Weather for Wednesday, October 12, 2022
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
A strong cold front will continue to move eastward through
the United States tomorrow, bringing showers and some
thunderstorms to the Midwest and Southeast. In the Ohio and
Mississippi River valleys, a few of these storms may become
severe, with damaging winds as the primary threat. Any
storms can also produce heavy rain and will likely be moving
abnormally quickly as the front approaches. Along the
Florida Peninsula, showers and thunderstorms could hamper
cleanup efforts in the wake of Hurricane Ian. Behind the
front, temperatures are expected to drop sharply, with low
temperatures likely reaching the 30s in the western Great
Lakes. Subfreezing temperatures tomorrow night are expected
as far south as Iowa.
