It is that time of year again! The Strong River Chapter of the National Turkey Federation will host their annual Hunting Heritage Banquet.
The event is set for Tuesday, February 5, at the National Guard Armory in Magee. Doors open at 6 p.m. and dinner is at 7 p.m.
One of the highlights of the event is when the local scholarships are awarded to Simpson County students for essays they present in competition for college scholarships.
The Strong River chapter has been recognized year after year for their stellar preformance for the Wild Turkey Federation. For that reason the local chapter continues to have one of the best events available.
This is the big annual event that raises funds not only for the state and county but also for the overall organization.
Tickets for the event offer a host of opportunities for the wildlife enthusiast. Tickets start at $60 for individuals and increase to sponsor levels to include opportunities to be included in all events. Each sponsor will qualify for the opportunity to participate in the sponsor gun give away. That means there is a one in five chance to win a gun.
This has been one of the biggest draws for the local banquet for years. Anyone interested in tickets may contact any member of the Strong River Chapter.
