Traffic and Parking for the 2019 Dixie National Rodeo

JACKSON, Miss. — Mississippi Fair Commission Executive Director, Steve Hutton, announced today traffic and parking considerations for the 2019 Dixie National Livestock Show and Rodeo.

Hutton said, “What many people don’t realize is that the Livestock Show is three weeks long.  It starts before the Rodeo, continues during the Rodeo, and goes well beyond the Rodeo.  This year’s Livestock Show appears to be one of the largest attended shows in our history, which means are parking lots are pretty full all day and all night.”

Rodeo patrons are encouraged to consider parking off property.

While there will be limited free parking on the Fairgrounds, there will be large crowds each night for the Rodeo adding to the congestion.

Dennery’s Restaurant and the Regency Hotel, located on Greymont Street, East of the Coliseum will be providing paid parking options.  The Fairgrounds will open gates 6 and 7 for pedestrian traffic allowing easy access to the Coliseum.

“We strongly encourage our patrons to consider parking at Dennery’s or Regency, and then walking across the street,” Hutton added.  “Our Box Office is located on the South Side of the Coliseum.  We have added two temporary Box Office windows on the North Side of the Coliseum as well.  Getting your tickets through Ticketmaster in advance is also strongly recommended.”
