Funeral services for Mr. Michael L. "Shay" Buchanan, 48, Mount Olive (and formerly of Magee) were held on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at 11 a.m. from Mt. Zion Jr. Baptist Church, Mount Olive. Rev. Ronnie Norwood officiated the services. Interment was in the church cemetery. Reeves Funeral Home, Inc., Mount Olive was in charge of the arrangements
Mr. Buchanan passed away on February 13, 2018 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson.
Honorary pallbearers: Danny Duckworth, Arthur Duckworth, Bobby Duckworth, Calvin Keller, Alto Buchanan, and Arthur Cheeks.
Active pallbearers: Greg Lofton, Aundria Turner, Steve Duckworth, Vinson Chatman, Dewayne Pittman and classmates of 1988.

He was a member of the Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church. He attended Harrison Central School until the ninth grade and later graduated from Magee High School, Magee. He was the owner of Mike's Clutch Shop.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Johns A. Lofton and Leroy Easterling and grandmother, Clara Holmes.
Survivors include, his wife, Lisa Belle Buchanan, daughter, Tabitha (Rashad) Thompson; special daughter, Dakota Spencer; sons, Donovan Belle and Jonathan Belle; mother, Mandy Magee and father, Arthur Buchanan, grandmother, Cleo Lofton, special father, Thomas "Run" McCright; sister, Angela Buchanan,; brothers, Alton Buchanan, and Arthur Cheeks; six grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
