Candy Hard Blount, 47, of Mendenhall passed away Monday, August 21, 2017, at River Regional Medical Center in Vicksburg. She was born Sunday, April 5, 1970, in Mendenhall.
Visitation was held Thursday, August 24, 2017, from 5-8 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee. Funeral services were held Friday, August 25, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee. Burial followed in Mendenhall City Cemetery. Bro. Trent Sullivan and Bro. Charles Savell officiated. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Blount was preceded in death by her father, Billy Ray Hard.
Mrs Blount is survived by her husband, John Blount; daughter, Kimberly Blount; sons, John Michael Blount and Timothy Blount; mother, Claudia Ann Marchant (Steve); sisters, Tammy Welch (Phillip), Michelle Wilson (Jack), Tanealia Thompson (Timmy), Sissy Mahaffey (John); brothers, B.J. Hard (Haley), Keith Marchant (Tracy), Trey Fortenberry (Bethany); mother-in-law, Linda Carolyn Blount and a host of nieces and nephews.

Jerry Dewitt Ham, 67, passed from this life on Tuesday, August 22, 2017.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 26, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee with burial in Magee City Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Ham; son, Jerry Robin Ham (Charlotte); daughters, Jessica Lynn Carter, Chelsie Samantha Ham, Kelly Michelle Greer (Jeremy); mother, Jimmy Evelyn Burkett; brothers, Michael Ray Ham (Paulette), Marvin Tony Burkett (Renee), Walter Richard Burkett (Jaime); grandchildren, Jordan Ham, Matthew Ham, Noah McWilliams, Ethan McWilliams; and a host of nieces and nephews.

John David Kyzar, 77, of Braxton passed away Sunday, August 27, 2017, at home in Braxton.
Visitation was held Tuesday, August 29, 2017, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. and funeral services at 1 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mendenhall. Burial followed in Hickory Ridge Cemetery.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Paulette Kyzar; parents, Terry Kyzar and Mavis Kyzar; and brother, James Kyzar.
Survivors include his daughter, Johnna Chain (Grant), Braxton; son, Craig Kyzar, Braxton; brother, Terry Kyzar, Braxton; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Daisy Burns
Raleigh
Daisy Burns, age 85, a lifelong resident of Raleigh, died Friday August 25, 2017, following an extended illness.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday, August 28, 2017, from the Salem Baptist Church near Raleigh with interment following in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Nicki Walker and Rev. Barron Price officiated.
Mrs. Burns was born on Saturday, May 7, 2932, in Monticello to Wash Lambert and Ella Davis Lambert. She was a member of Sharon Baptist Church in Raleigh. She retired as a machine operator from ManuTech in 1992. She loved her family and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Jessie Reeves; son, James Burns; a granddaughter, Tabitha Staley; a great-grandson, Jonathan Webb; and her husband, Jessie Ray Burns.
Survivors include two daughters, Faye Kazery of Raleigh, Wanda Bynum (Mike) of Mendenhall; a son, Charles Burns (Sue) of Petal. She is also survived by two sisters, Dezzie Kruger and Nell Hart (Johnny), all of Enos, TX; and a brother, Johnny Arender of Raleigh. She leaves a legacy of 18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Pallbearers were Keith Brown, Anthony Burns, Scotty Reeves, Joey Burns, Jeremy Cockrell, Josh Leamond, Scott Harrell, Cody Culpepper and Steven Taylor.
Funeral services provided by Ott & Lee Funeral Home of Forest.
Patsy Herrington
Patsy Herrington passed away on Saturday, August 26, 2017, at Lakeview Place Assisted Living. She was born on July 31, 1931, to Claude and Sadie (Grubbs) Herrington.
She was a lifelong resident of Magee and a member of Goodwater Baptist Church, where she loved her time working as a nursery worker at the church for many years. She loved her family and friends, was an avid reader and also enjoyed knitting and crocheting. To the pleasure of many, she delighted in baking them cookies.
She was preceded in death by her parents and nephew, Robert Herrington. She is survived by her brother, Bobby Herrington; nephew, Charles Herrington (Susan); niece, Leigh Lawrence (Paul) and great niece and nephew, Seth and Haley Lawrence.
Visitation will be held at Goodwater Baptist Church on Wednesday, August 30, 2017, from 10-11 a.m. with services to begin at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Goodwater Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family request a donation be made to Goodwater Baptist Church in her memory.
Arrangements were entrusted to Tutor Funeral Home of Magee.

Robert E. Ainsworth, 68, of Braxton passed away Sunday, August 27, 2017, at home in Braxton. He was born November 29, 1948, in Kosciusko.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 30, 2017, from 5-9 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mendenhall. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 31, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mendenhall. Burial will follow in Braxton City Cemetery. Bro. Maurice Bryant will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his daughters, Amy Thompson (Keith) and Tonya Rutland (Henry); son, Bo Ainsworth (Patricia); 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Thomas Stacy Sapp, Sr., age 70, of Picayune, Mississippi passed away Monday, August 28, 2017.
A graveside service will be held at Catahoula Cemetery on Friday, September 1, 2017 at 2 p.m. with Bro. James Reeves officiating.
Mr. Sapp was a Veteran of the U.S. Marines, and was a retired lineman for AT&T.
He is survived by three sons, Thomas S. Sapp, Jr. (Robyn) of Pensacola, Florida, Shawn S. Sapp (Crystal) of Picayune, Mississippi and Tonka S. Sapp (Teresa) of Picayune, Mississippi; one daughter, Michell Batton (Dean) of Mendenhall; siblings, Peggy Beese of Georgia, Annette Glenn of Georgia, Carolyn Moody of Georgia, Jerry Sapp of Georgia, Kathy Roberts of Mississippi, Joseph Sapp, Jr. of Georgia, Carol Ann Rowland of Georgia, and Bonnie Sapp of Georgia; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Louise Sapp; wife, Lola Carole Sapp; and one sister, Lawanna Buie.
