Incumbent Matthew Hickman to serve second term

Its official on over a two to one vote margin incumbent Matthew Hickman wins run-off for Alderman Ward Two.

Hickman was elected to a second term during the run-off which was held on Tuesday night. He faced newcomer, Beth McCall Moore. There were a total of 90 ballots cast.

New school superintendent hired

Simpson County Schools has a new superintendent of education, Dr. Toriano Holloway.
A special meeting was held Monday at the central office in Mendenhall to introduce Dr. Holloway to staff and faculty members of the school district.
