Thanks to an anonymous donor, Pearl River Community College is celebrating the people behind student success through the new IMPACT Scholarship. The program will award $500 per semester to freshmen and recognize the teachers and coaches who inspired them.
The IMPACT Scholarship is open to high school seniors who plan to enroll at Pearl River Community College in fall 2026.
“The IMPACT Scholarship is a powerful reminder that student success doesn’t happen in isolation,” said Delana Harris, Executive Director of the PRCC Foundation. “Behind every motivated student is a teacher or coach who believed in them, challenged them, and helped them see their potential. This scholarship celebrates those relationships while providing meaningful support to our future Wildcats.”
In addition to supporting students, the scholarship highlights the powerful role educators and coaches play in a student’s journey. Each applicant is asked to share how a teacher or coach has made a meaningful difference in their life. Selected recipients and the educators or coaches they name will be honored at a luncheon in April.
The application process is separate from other Foundation scholarships. Applicants must submit a 300- to 500-word essay describing how a teacher or coach has had a positive impact on their life. Applications are due March 1.
