Richard “Ricky” Curtis Mullins Sr. went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at his home in Harrisville, MS. He was 65 years old. The family received friends and extended family for visitation from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, January 10, 2025, and again on Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 1-2 p.m. at Unity Baptist Church in Georgetown. The funeral service was on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 2 p.m., also at Unity Baptist Church in Georgetown with burial following at Harrisville Cemetery.
Ricky was born on August 23, 1959, to Charles Hines Mullins Sr. and Hazel Nell Augusta Gordon in Jackson, MS. He has lived most of his life in Harrisville and Old Pearl. He worked 38 years at J. L. Roberts Mechanical and was a loyal, reliable, and hardworking employee. Ricky was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Georgetown, where he was very involved and devoted. He loved building things for all church activities and was involved with the youth group for many years where he was a father figure for many of the youth within the church. He was constantly working and helping any and everybody in need. Ricky loved his family with his whole heart. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
Ricky is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Albert Mullins; and sisters, Victoria Sandford and Naomi Whitfield. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Tammy Mullins of Harrisville; sons, Rick Mullins (Anna) of Gluckstadt and Lucas Mullins (Miranda) of Florence; granddaughters, Kymberly, Carsyn, Ellie, and Everlee; brothers, Charles Mullins (Laura) of Silsbee, TX and Steve Mullins (Deena) of Harrisville; sister, Christine Pevey of Harrisville and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
