Senator Lydia Chassaniol will soon begin gathering video snippets of Mississippi’s culinary all-stars to begin displaying before the world, as she will be host of “Southern Dish,” a new television series set to air in June 2026, “that celebrates the state’s rich culinary heritage and the talented chefs who bring it to life,” wrote Today in Mississippi magazine, adding, ‘Southern Dish,” a new television show that celebrates the state’s rich culinary heritage and the talented chefs who bring it to life.’
Chassaniol, Chairman of the Senate Tourism Committee is a retired teacher, a former restaurant owner and has traveled every corner of Mississippi, therefore, she knows where culinary treasures exist.
The senator is donating her time as a volunteer for the effort.
“I’m just doing this to help Mississippi’s tourism industry,” Senator Chassaniol said. “I’m what you call ‘pro bono’ talent.”
