MENDENHALL, MS – On January 31, 2026, Simpson General Hospital successfully transitioned to Epic, a digital system that securely stores and shares a patient’s complete medical history, including diagnoses, medications, lab results and other clinical data, across multiple healthcare providers and settings.
“We’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time,” said Simpson General CEO Gregg Gibbes. “Transitioning to Epic allows our hospital to deliver more connected, efficient, and patient-focused care.”
With Epic, SGH is now offering MyChart, a secure, user-friendly online patient portal in which patients can view test results, schedule appointments, request prescription refills, and communicate directly with their care team.
Patients who have an existing MyChart account with another organization can link the two accounts, but first they must create an account at simpsongeneral.com/mychart. After that account is created, here are the steps to link to another MyChart account:
• Search link from the menu or from your health feed.
• Find the “Link with Other Organizations” notification and click “Explore.”
• Organizations you have visited recently appear, or if you want to find a different one, search for it here.
• After you select and answer a verification question, the accounts are linked from your health feed and from the shortcuts.
• All of your MyChart information can appear together from any linked account.
Gibbes said, “The launch of Epic represents the start of a new era of connected care, streamlined workflows, and a better experience for both our staff and the communities we serve.”
