McWilliams rising in LA

Simpson Academy graduate and LA Dodgers rising star Sam McWilliams is spending his vacation back home in Mississippi. McWilliams was drafted by the Dodgers in the 19th round of the 2018 draft as an outfielder but has since transitioned to the infield as a second baseman.

Simpson Academy pulled out a close game against St. Joseph Catholic last Friday with a score of 28-21. The win pushed the Cougars’ record to 3-3 overall and 2-1 in district play. The Cougars are currently in second place in MAIS 5A District 2. The Cougars will travel to face district opponent Park Place Christian Academy this Friday.
