The Magee Trojans kept the train rolling last Friday with a 46-14 win over the Tylertown Chiefs. The Trojans traveled to Tylertown and were hot from the start. Cayden Bridges opened all scoring with a 5-yard rushing touchdown. From there the Trojans ran away with the game and scored 32 unanswered points.
Chandler Pittman completed three total touchdown passes to Bridges, Xavier Franks, and Jaylen Floyd. Jawon Shaw and Tristian Newsome each had a rushing touchdown as the Trojans put on a brilliant display of offense.
Defensively the Trojans dominated their opponents led by linebackers Cameron Floyd and Jody Durr. The game was essentially over by halftime, and the Trojans were able to work in younger players and get them game reps.
The Trojans are the number one ranked team in the Mississippi 3A division according to Maxpreps and currently sit 3-0 in district play. The Trojans have a home game against the Jefferson Davis County Jaguars this Friday. Many have circled this game on their calendars due to a controversial loss suffered by the Trojans last year to JDC. The Jaguars are currently in fourth place in the district with a 1-2 district record.
The Trojans will look to establish themselves early as they take on their division rivals.
