The Simpson Lady Cougar softball team played Parklane Academy in the Overall AAAA Championship Series in a best 2 out of 3 format. Game one was played on Wednesday at the Jimmy Clyde Sportsplex and Simpson came away with a 5-3 win to go up 1-0 in the series.
Games two and and three were played at Parklane in McComb on Saturday. In game two Parklane defeated Simpson 12-2 in five innings forcing a deciding game three. Game three went into extra innings with Parklane coming out victorious 7-6 in eight innings. The Lady Cougars completed a great season with a 24-13 record, AAAA DII Champions, and Overall AAAA Runner-up.

Simpson 5 Parklane 3-Getting hits for Simpson were Abigail Carter with a double, Bella Luckey a double, Leah Beth Luckey a double, Maddie Moody a single and a RBI, Ma’Nia Womack a single, Gracie Giordano a RBI, Morgan Griffith a RBI, and Carson Smith a RBI.
Pitching for Simpson was Bella Luckey 7 innings with 2 strikeouts. The win improved Simpson’s record to 24-11 on the season.
Game Two
Parklane 12 Simpson 2-Getting hits for Simpson were Abigail Carter with a RBI and Maddie Moody a RBI. Pitching for Simpson were Morgan Griffith 2.1 innings with 2 strikeouts, Bella Luckey 1.2 innings, and Carson Smith 0.1 inning. The loss dropped Simpson’s record to 24-12 on the season.
Game Three
Parklane 7 Simpson 6 (8 Innings)-Getting hits for Simpson were Maddie Moody with a double, and two singles, and a RBI, Morgan Griffith a double and a single, Gracie Giordano a double and 2 RBI’s, Bella Luckey a single and 2 RBI’s, and Ma’Nia Womack a single.
