Girls Games

Copiah Academy

Simpson 52 Copiah 24 -Scoring for Simpson were TK Catchings with 16 points, Morgan Griffith 12, Gracie Bowen 6, Alissa Brewer 5, Anna Claire Walker 4, Kristin Busby 3, Ma’Nia Womack 3, Adeline Bond 2, and Gracie Giordano 1. The win improved Simpson’s record to 3-0 in district play and 21-3 on the season.

Lamar School

Lamar 62 SCA 50-Scoring for Simpson were TK Catchings with 17 points, Morgan Griffith 14, Alissa Brewer 9, Anna Claire Walker 8, and Gracie Bowen 2. The loss dropped Simpson’s record to 3-1 in district play and 21-4 on the season.

Boys Games

Copiah Academy

Simpson 65 Copiah 53 -Scoring for Simpson were Joseph Berry with 17 points, Hunter Cline 14, Bowen Kelly 14, Thomas Pepper 7, Josh Flynt 6, Layton Brown 5, and Daniel Pepper 2. The win improved Simpson’s record to 2-1 in district play and 15-6 on the season.

Lamar School

Lamar 67 Simpson 63 OT-Scoring for Simpson were Joseph Berry with 14 points, Hunter Cline 11, Thomas Pepper 11, Bowen Kelly 9, Todd Larkin 6, Daniel Pepper 6, Layton Brown 3, and Jaden Wedgeworth 3. The loss dropped Simpson’s record to 2-2 in district play and 15-7 on the season.

Junior High Games

In Junior High action the Simpson girls defeated Copiah 43-16 and Lamar 42-27. The Simpson boys defeated Copiah 55-48 and Lamar 55-35.

The Cougars will host Hartfield Academy on Thursday, January 24, with the junior high girls starting at 4 p.m. followed by the junior high boys, varsity girls, and varsity boys. The Cougars will travel to Copiah Academy in Gallman on Tuesday, January 29, with the 7th grade girls starting at 3 p.m. followed by the 7th grade boys, junior high girls, junior high boys, varsity girls, and varsity boys.
