Central Hinds Academy
Simpson 73 Central Hinds 28-Scoring for Simpson were TK Catchings with 19 points, Anna Claire Walker 18, Ma’Nia Womack 16, Alissa Brewer 9, Sabra Hubbard 5, Gracie Bowen 3, and Maddie Moody 3. The win improved Simpson’s district record to 7-3 and 26-4 on the season.
Columbia Academy
Simpson 68 Columbia 35-Scoring for Simpson were TK Catchings with 18 points, Anna Claire Walker 11, Ma’Nia Womack 11, Maddie Moody 9, Alissa Brewer 8, Gracie Bowen 6, and Mollie Jones 5. The win improved Simpson’s record to 27-4 on the season.
Boys Games
Central Hinds Academy
Simpson 83 Central Hinds 15-Scoring for Simpson were Joe Berry with 17 points, Josh Flynt 16, Warner Watkins 14, Todd Larkin 10, Jered Smith 8, Seth Cooper 4, Cole Groover 4, Scott Maddox 3, Cameron Larkin 2, Jaden Wedgeworth 2, Drew Williams 2, and Wesley Boyd 1. The win improved Simpson’s district record to 8-2 and 24-6 on the season.
Columbia Academy
Simpson 47 Columbia 45-Scoring for Simpson were Joe Berry with 19 points, Josh Flynt 11, Todd Larkin 7, Warner Watkins 4, Cole Groover 2, Jered Smith 2, and Drew Williams 2. The win improved Simpson’s record to 25-6 on the season.
JH Games
Simpson girls defeated Central Hinds 67-14 and Simpson boys defeated Central Hinds 66-17.
Simpson will host the District 3 AAAA Tournament on Friday, February 7, and Saturday, February 8. Simpson girls will play the winner of Central Hinds/Park Place at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Simpson boys will play the winner of St. Al/Park Place at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. The girls and boys will play Saturday in the Championship game if they win, girls at 3:15 p.m. and boys at 6 p.m If either team loses they will play in the consolation game girls at 2 p.m. and boys at 4:45 p.m.
Simpson’s girls and boys will play in the MAIS AAAA South State Tournament at Oak Forest Academy in Amite, LA on Tuesday, February 11 or Wednesday, February 12.
