Week 7 Simpson County Falcons
All the teams traveled to Heidelberg this week in non-conference play.
The Tinamites
(5&6 yrs)
This week our youngest group played some really tough football. From start to finish the young Falcons dominated the game. Four different players scored touchdowns in the affair. The standout player this game was the entire defense. They held the Oilers to only 2 first downs and one score, and the offense maintained possession a big majority of the game, only allowing the Oilers 3 possessions. Final score Falcons 30 - Oilers 6.
The Rookies
(7&8 yrs)
This game started out as a defensive battle as neither team could get going in the first half. The Oilers managed to score late in the second quarter. Falcons refused the extra points. Oilers 6-0 at the half. The second was a different novel one that told a completely different story. The Oilers figured out what adjustments to make and did just that. Some standouts for the rookies: Keymari Traxler and Demaris Davis. Final score Oilers 28 Falcons 0.
The Midgets
(9&10 yrs)
Ever have one of those days where you just couldn't get in sync? Well our middle group of Falcons had a game that went like that. They just couldn’t get a rhythm going. The Oiler did. Final score Oilers 28 Falcons 0.
The Peewees
(11&12 yrs)
The Falcon Pee-Wees took a page out of the youngest group’s playbook and just dominated the Oilers start to finish.
Akavion Griffith threw 2 touchdowns, one to Jay Ulmer and the other to Tayton James! Jay Ulmer also had 2 rushing touchdowns! Tayton James also had a rushing touchdown... Jay Ulmer had 2 interceptions and Victor Russell had an interception. The entire defense was just outstanding! The final score Falcons 32 - Oilers 8.
