Stanley Lavelle Cook, 91, of Magee, MS, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at the Hillcrest Nursing Home in Magee, MS. He was born Sunday, August 13, 1933, in Smith County, Mississippi.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 7, 2025, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee. Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee. Burial followed in Kennedy Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Magee, Mississippi. Sandra Cook Hancock officiated. Special music was performed by Stacey Bynum Jones and MaKayla Cook Runnels. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee was in charge of arrangements, 601-849-5031.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Thomas Cook and Rosie Padgett Cook; brothers, Armon Cook (Ethree), Butell Cook, Ezra David Cook (Simmie).
Survivors include his brother, Eugene Cook (Selvis Jean) of Magee; nephew, Wesley Cook (Almee) of Magee; sister-in-law, Hilda Cook of Pearl; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Pallbearers were Wesley Cook, Drake Roberts, Jason East, Brian East, David C. Cook, and David G. Cook.
