I, Lane Steele, am writing to announce my candidacy for the City of Magee Ward 3 Alderman position.
I have been a long-time resident and business owner of Magee, where I have faithfully served the citizens for 26 consecutive years as Alderman. Additionally, I have dedicated 40 years to volunteering as a Firefighter, serving as the Fire Chief for 20 of those years.
During my tenure as Alderman, we have witnessed significant growth within the city. We have enacted numerous ordinances, including the current zoning ordinance, and constructed the sportsplex. Furthermore, I have been instrumental in securing a Class 5 insurance rating for the city, which has resulted in reduced insurance costs for businesses and homeowners. This has attracted new businesses and stimulated an increase in new homes and remodels across the city.
If re-elected, I will continue to serve the citizens of Magee and Ward 3 with unwavering dedication and Christian values, as instilled in me by my parents. My philosophy is “Let experience work for you.”
