Christ Fellowship Church has served citizens of Magee and surrounding areas for the last 22 years with their Community Thanksgiving. The community-led project serves up to 450 people each year. Up to 25 turkeys are smoked the night before Thanksgiving.

It is called The Community Thanksgiving and for the last 22 years Christ Fellowship Church (formerly FUMC of Magee) has served citizens of Magee and the surrounding areas a traditional Thanksgiving meal on Thanksgiving Day.

Co-Lin Simpson Center hosted its first Veterans Day Breakfast November 8, 2023 with plans in place to make this an annual event. Veterans and guests were treated to breakfast cosponsored by Magee General Hospital featuring eggs, grits, sausage, biscuits, waffles, pastries, fruit, juice and coffee.

Local service honors vets

Like others in Simpson County, Sara Skinner opened a new business in the midst of the Covid pandemic.
Claire Belle Children’s Boutique was crafted out of necessity after Skinner had difficulty finding matching Easter outfits for her young children in 2020.
