On May 13, 2022, two Mize Attendance Center senior cheerleaders, Lani Blair and Amelia Evans, signed college cheerleading scholarships.
Lani was selected to cheer at Mississippi College in Clinton, MS, where she plans to pursue a career in nursing. Lani is the daughter of Bill and Kelly Blair and the granddaughter of Billy and Patricia Blair of Magee, Milton McKissack of Laurel, and David and Susan Wilkinson of Ellisville.
Amelia was selected to cheer at Pearl River Community College in Poplarville, MS, where she plans to pursue a career in communications. PRCC’s cheerleading squad is the reigning UCA All-Girl National Champions. Amelia is the daughter of Dusty and Amber Evans and the granddaughter of Stevie and Cindy Austin of Raleigh and Joe and Ann Evans of Mize.
Along with family members and friends, Mize Attendance Center principal John King, cheerleading sponsor Brooke King, and Taylor Built Champions cheerleading coach Johnny Taylor, were present for their signing.
Lani and Amelia are members of the reigning 1A/2A MHSAA State Championship cheer team and UCA National Game Day Silver Medalists.
